I broke my dock...*panics*...I BROKE MY DOCK! :(

Argh!

Ok, so I just broke Mr Dock...take a look. I trying to drag something to the trash...and missed and grabbed the finder icon, and now this has happened I've restarted the finder and the dock. I'll reboot in a minute or so if I can't fix it...

EDIT: Just discovered it's a floating finder icon...so it just sits around in the way!

I had something like this happen to me once. I used Onyx (just google and download--it's free) to quit the finder and then restarted the finder. It went back into the dock.

There's probably a way to fix this in terminal, as well, but I'm a GUI kind of guy.

Have you deleted preference lists?
