My scroll ball stopped scrolling down so I turned it over and vigorously rolled it on a piece of white paper. Standard procedure as far as I know.

Good news is my scroll ball works great. Bad news is both the right and left click now act as the scroll ball and bring up the dashboard.

I had to dig through my closet and find an old Microsoft mouse that was usb. Is there a way to fix this or open up my mighty mouse? is the mouse covered under the warranty? I got the AppleCare on my iMac.

Thank you for any help.

Yes, your mouse (if it came with the computer) is covered for the duration of your AppleCare plan. Just call tech support (1-800-APL-CARE) and they can arrange for a replacement.
