I have a few apps that I don't use, I just installed them to try them out.

How can I clean up these apps that I don't have/want installed?

It's a list of all of the programs you've purchased. Why would you expect to be able to remove things from the list?

Yeah. Personally I love that in MAS. Wish it was the same for all my iPhone purchases too! So I dont see why you would get rid of them?

Some of them were free and I was just trying them out. If they all stay up there then eventually I'll have tried a bunch more out for free and not want them anymore.

So? It's again, just a list of what you've purchased. Nothing more. It doesn't take up space or clutter up anything. It's not going to change, so don't expect it to.
