I can not find the dot at the bottom of Mail and I can't find the preview pane. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks

Took me a minute to figure out what you meant by "dot", but now I think i know. Not sure if the "dot" for the preview pane is actually missing, or just off screen in your case. But if it truly is gone you could try deleting the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file and then rebooting. After the reboot the system will recreate the file and hopefully fix your problem. Good luck.

no way to collapse preview pane

I'm running latest version of Lion and cannot get rid of the mail preview pane in the new interface ... as the 'dot' at the bottom of the preview pane does not appear.

The only way to get get rid of the preview pane is for me to go back to the 'classic layout' and do it that way.
