Or am I missing something?

Lots of times I have my watch charging in another room and can quickly check how the battery is doing from somewhere else in the house, which is great. Would be real convenient if I could do the opposite from the watch.

Thanks! Any you’d recommend personally?
Cloud battery works well but, it doesn't currently show percentages if that is a problem for you. Juice Watch also works well and does show battery percentage on the watch face. Phone Buddy is great but has a lot of other features you may not be interested in. The first two apps were a few bucks a piece (if I remember right) and Phone Buddy was $5.

I would start with Juice Watch if what you mentioned is all you care about.

I really like Cloud Battery, because all of my devices sync over the cloud.
I also like the idea and had it installed on my Watches for some time. Unfortunately it drained the battery on all of them a lot faster than without (especially with the complication active). I mailed „support“ and got no answer for weeks (in fact none at all so far), so the only thing I could do was uninstalling it 😑

I’ve been testing some of the recommendations and so far nothing that seems to consistently work to my liking. Juice Watch is also $7 CAD right now and I’m not paying that to test something I may not end up liking.

Would very much rather Apple just baked it in natively since it would be so seamless.

I didn't know you were from Canada. I can certainly understand not wanting to pay the much higher rate. Unfortunately, I don't see Apple adding in such a nice feature. Maybe they will prove me wrong.

It’s all good. Appreciate the suggestions all the same.

It’s always been a gripe of mine as a long time Apple user that battery apps on iDevices just flat out suck. They try to fluff them up to make it seem like they do more than they really do but when it comes down to it I guess Apple just doesn’t give them access to enough data to make anything worthwhile or seamless.

None of these apps I’ve been trying so far update the information frequently enough because it appears the way iOS manages them in the background it only allows for periodic updates anywhere from five minutes to an hour apart. And if you want notifications they want the app running on the phone all the time with background app refresh on and all these extra steps that probably just drain your battery more than it’s worth.

At the most basic level all I’d like to do is monitor my iPhone charging status from my Watch in real-time, from wherever I happen to be in my house, so I’ll know when it’s charged. The phone tracks the Watch battery in real-time so I can’t see why the reverse wouldn’t be just as simple. Apple could integrate the notifications perfectly as well to let us know when the device we’re not using is charged.

Maybe I’ll email Tim Cook and hope he skims it in the morning. What have I got to lose 😜

BatteryPhone. That one is free and shows the percentage of the phone.
But: In my experience, when the watch has no contact with the phone (in my case whilst/after running), the complication hangs and doesn‘t do anything, not even showing the correct percentage for the watch - which annoyed me and I uninstalled it.

CloudBattery would be really great, showing the level of all Apple devices but unfortunately, as stated above, drains the battery too much and that kinda defeats the purpose 😐

According to the App Store it does…
I loaded the complication on my watch (again) and it does not show percentages. It has never shown percentages to me on the watch. I don't know why the App Store is saying it does show percentages with the watch complication. I contacted the developer when I first got the app about the percentages option and was told it would be considered / worked on with an upcoming release.

For a developer to visually release information that is not current or not in operation is against the App Store rules….
I am surprised Apple gave it the green light if it is an item not in operation…
Totally against what is advertised!
