I have my own internet and I use a password protected router (WEP).

I can see three people in the "Shared" part of finder. I can't connect to them "connection failed". What the hell is going on here? Could they have "cracked" my router some how?

do u have 3 other computers on the network in your house?

haha,
No just one Mac.
(i can see they are PCs with the BSOD icons, haha).

they are labeled: byk, tablet, and toshiba-user. Not that it really maters.

Just left left a coffee shop, maybe it is related to the previous network i was on there.......

That's likely. I changed my computer name a couple of times yesterday, and the laptop that's also on my network saw each new name as a different shared computer until the next time I logged in.

Just rebooted and they are gone. Must of been some left over crap from the coffee shop. My bad

oh hahaha ok that is good then lol..

what kind of router do you use? it may hvae some kind of MAC address blockout from inside the settings. i would try setting that to allow ONLY your mac to connect to it.

could the shared folders be comming from a shared location that is on your mac??? just a random thought, probably not the answer tho.
