I can't delete the videos from the "video" smart album on my iPhotos

( I would like to delete all of them to free up space, as I have moved them to Final Cut Pro already).

You'll need to delete them from the main iPhoto library. What's in Slideshows/Albums/Smart Albums are just links to the main library.

That's very unfortunate. How do you deal with this problem? You can't mass-import all of the iPhone videos to Final Cut Pro; it is only possible in the iPhoto, but then you can't edit the videos like Final Cut Pro in iPhoto, and if you move it to Final Cut Pro, you'll have duplicates, since you can't mass-delete movies from iPhoto.
