Alas, upon further checking, my home iMac's video card isn't up to scratch.

I informed my wife that I wouldn't be buying Motion tonight because of this. "On the bright side, this has saved us $50", I said.

"More likely going to cost us 3 grand real soon", she replied.

Ahhh, the mind reading powers that come with a long marriage. :D

I'm in the same boat. My Mac (in my sig) has the acceptable video card but not enough RAM tied to it (you need 256MB of VRAM).

I'm like, well that means instead of $300 - I need a new Mac ($2,000). I just wish Apple would make a 15" Portable under $1500.
 
I was starting to feel the need for a change of Mac before FCP X came along. This just means that dipping my toes into this Brave New World of video editing will have to wait a little longer.
