My itouch must've died at my boyfriend's house because when i went to pick it up it was not turning on. so the following day i tried plugging it into my ihome but it would not turn on. so i plugged it in to an iphone charger. the tiny battery with the lightning bolt icon turned on and i thought i could let it charge as i did dishes. so when i heard the beep to show my ipod was ON i went over to it to plug it into my ihome for a listen. but the screen was white and the bottom of the ipod was very hot. when i tried to press the on and off button and the home button the screen went black and now the ipod will not turn on. or charge and the heat at the bottom subsided. i plugged it into 2 different types of wall chargers, an ihome, my computer. and nothing.

is my itouch broken or is there a way to fix it?
:(

how would i do that?

The last post wasn't very thorough. Plug device into computer, open iTunes, hold home+power button at same time. If the device comes up it is fine. If not try a DFU restore. Google DFU mode for instructions for that.
