I can’t load IOS 18-Beta. Help please,

I have an iPad Pro 9.7" 1st Gen (WiFi) / 128GB / MLMV2LL/A.​

I have signed up for the beta, selected ipad iOS etc and when I return to
Settings-general update-beta update, they are available to me however below it still states
“iPadOS 16.7.10 iPadOS is up to date”
Can anyone help me to fix this please, I have watched endless videos trying to resolve this?

iPadOS 16 is the latest supported version for your iPP. It does not support iPadOS versions betong that, beta or not.

1st Generation! And it's still working! (except for iPadOS updates)
