I can't search iCal events entered prior to upgrading to Leopard...

I recently upgraded the OS of my iBook G4 to Leopard 10.5.7. Since then, whenever I search for events in iCal, the search result will only show events that have been entered before the upgrade and not events entered before then. Does anyone know why this is and anyway I can resolve this problem? Thanks.
