I've been having a lot of trouble with my podcasts. First of all, when I only select to transfer my music (a 4.9 GB library) it ends up transferring as well my audio podcasts (so the audio ends up taking 5.8 GB).

Now, this podcasts are not appearing under the podcasts section nor in the artists or songs sections in my iPod Touch, but I can see them in me Recently Added playlist.

Strangely, when I do select to sync podcasts, some podcasts are transfered and those would appear in the podcasts section. But the others would still be hidden.

Is there a solution for this problem? Or am I the only one suffering it?

Thanks,:)

Sounds like a problem in your iTunes library (not with your Touch, per se).

In iTunes, do they show up under the Podcasts heading?

Yep, they show correctly in iTunes.

I managed to remove those podcasts by adding to the Recently Added playlist to ignore podcasts.

It seems that even tho I have told iTunes not to transfer podcasts, it still transfered the ones that were in the Recently Added playlist.

I hope we see an update soon, since the iPod touch do have some major bugs. Like the Top 25 Most Played playlist not working.

I haven't had this same bug.

This may be too obvious, but you've configured the iPod to transfer the Podcasts you want, right? With the ipod connected, in itunes, there should be a podcast tab. You can configure to transfer some/all of some/all of your podcasts.

//EDIT: Is your problem that they're transferring when you don't want them to? or that they're not transferring when you want them to?

The problem was that when I selected to transfer no podcasts to my iPod Touch (doing so in the Podcasts tab) it was still transferring some podcasts (I noticed this because in the iPod panel it said I had transfered 5.8 GB of music when my Library is only 4.9 GB). The strange thing was that these podcasts didn't appear anywhere in my iPod.

Later on I noticed that it was importing those podcasts because they were on the "Recently Added" smart playlist of my iTunes. So I changed the smart playlist to ignore podcasts and the problem appears to be solved.

Still, I have 5.2 GB of music transfered, when my Library is only 4.9. Not sure what is causing this.

I hope I explained it correctly.:) Thanks for the help.

is there supposed to be podcast tab under the iPod in iTunes or are podcasts automattically added under videos on the iPod. I have the iPod set to "manually manage music and videos". I can see the podcasts, but they are in no particular order.

I'm new to all this, but I sync it, and then went into the podcast tab at the top of itunes. Then you go and make sure you have a check in automatically include and select ALL Episodes of ALL PODCASTS.

Then you will need to sync again. This allows me to move my podcast of Dave Ramsey.

Hope this helps
