I can't switch my accounts

I can't switch my accounts for the app store. I recently bought a iphone 2g from some one and there account is still on the app store. When I go into itunes it says its on my account but when i go to update apps its on his. I tried to the sync thing and that didn't work so i resest the setting and triend syncing it again and still nothing. Anyone have any suggestions?
