iPhone I can't turn off iTunes Match!?!?!

This is absurd. I let my iTunes match expire and now I can't sync music from my computer to my phone! There's no option to turn off iTunes match, instead they replaced it with a "Renew iTunes Match" link. The problem is when I hook up my computer to my phone under iTunes it says "iTunes match is on" and it will not let me sync music to my phone!

If I let my iTunes match subscription expire, why can't I turn off iTunes match?

there are two places to turn off iTunes match, they both do the same thing

on the iPhone go to settings
itunes & app store
turn off iTunes match

on the iPhone go to settings
music
you can also turn off iTunes match there

if theres a thing that prevents you from turning off iTunes match, can you please post a screen shot

you have to turn off iTunes match on the phone so you can go back to syncing. and not the computer
