i cant update my mac

when i try to update my mac using the apple my mac says its up to date and when i try downloading the mac os x update combo i get an error occurred while evaluating the java script for the package so what do i do now. i have a mac book pro 2009 mid year running mac os x snow leopard version 10.6.3
