Hi all,

some advice please from some of you clever people out there as I'm not very IT literate!!

When I open iTunes, and plug in my iPhone 3Gs, I get a message saying that a newer version of the iPhone software (4.2) is available. It asks me to click "Update", but when I do it tries to contact the iPhone software update server, then comes back with a message saying that the current version of iTunes 9.2.1 is the current version.

I can try the "Update Software" option in System Preferences, but it will not find the iPhone software update 4.2.

How do I upgrade if there appears to be some sort of loop in Apples's software update service.

My Itunes is version 9.2.1 (5)
iPhone software is 4.1 (8B117)

Any ideas??

Cheers,
Effortless.

Ah, I see my problem... I need OS X 10.5, and I only have 10.4...

Will have to wait...

Thanks for your help anyway,
Effortless.
