For some odd reason, I cannot get the WYSIWYG message composer to work right in Firefox 3.0.3. It displays HTML codes all over the post box, even though HTML is forbidden in posts here. Reverting to the enhanced interface makes things work, but not as elegantly. It worked before... I can't figure out why it doesn't work now.

I can't use multi-quote, formatting options, or smiley buttons--anyone else?

Hey everyone, tonight the forums won't let me use multi-quote, smileys, or formatting options. When I click on the multi-quote button it does nothing (and when I hit Post Reply or Quote, which do work, I don't see the multi-quote messages, so that confirms it's not working), and when I click on a smiley or a formatting button, the text box just gets inactive (ie not blue around the frame), but no smiley and no formatting. The only way I can get smileys is by typing them in; it seems to work but I don't remember all of them, and can't recall any of the formatting :p And besides I still need multi-quote :) Anyone know what's up?

Thx ;)

Everything is working fine for me. :)

Was going to suggest a JavaScript issue on the OP's end, but it looks like multiple people are having problems.

Not working for me either.

I click on the smiles, and the curser disappears, and no smily or code appears.

Tried in edit mode, and no joy either. :( Note, can hand type code and it works.

Ok, logged out and back in, still not working. Safari here.

Also, when I click on any members name, rather than the pull down menu, it jumps right to profile.

I tried Safari, and Firefox no such luck. Signed out and back in nothing. Even restarted the computer still nothing.

I have all of the above issues after restart, etc.

Clicking on "quick links" on the menu bar also has interesting results

Not working for me on Firefox. It works on Safari, but I prefer Firefox. BTW, if it's of any help to you, I'm getting some errors in Firefox's JavaScript console which seem like they might be related

Edit: I take that back, not working in Safari now either.

I just noticed the quick links thing. And, this quote is formatted interestingly enough. Wonder what it will look like when I post it.... Edit: I just editted my post, so that appears to be working. Formatting tags are all showing up, just like when quoting.

OK, and it's doing something REALLY weird with the formatting too, because I most definitely had that post formatted correctly when I typed it. I don't think linebreaks are working (BTW, there's a linebreak between "I typed it." and "I don't think" so if it doesn't show up when I submit this post, then there's a problem there too.

Seems there's several bugs going on. Looks like a job, for the Doctor Q ;) :D

Or Arn :D

I'm in Firefox 3 and smilies don't work for me either, so I can't tell you how I feel about it.

I'm thinking MR is discontinuing support for smilies and formatting
Their new direction is targeting users who are looking for more "pro" features
Lame smilies and archaic formatting options are old technology

I think we should start a petition to have these backward compatible features reinstated to the forum
