i chat and adium problem

i've been away for about 7 months and i haven't been using my computer. all of a sudden now when i open adium or i chat, it bounces in the dock and then a lil thing pops up and says the program has quit unexpectedly. i tried deleting the i chat sh*t in the library preferences but that didn't work. any ideas guys?

I don't use iChat, so no idea on that. For Adium, get the latest version, it works well on my iMac.

reinstall...do the updates

what happens?

the program won't even open for me to update....
