I am ready to go to the Apple Store and purchase a dual 1.8 Ghz G5 today. However, the platform has not received any significant updates since it's conception. I would be willing to wait until January for an update. Many go so far as to say it will not be update until March in that all out Mac Fest. In anycase, I wanna know what is the likelyhood of an update in January. Some additional information: I intend to use this computer for home video editing purposes and am currently a beginner/novice. If you were me, imagine yourself a couple inches shorter, 20 pounds fatter, and in a position to purchase this magnificent beast. Should I buy this oversized cheese grater or what?

Yes, buy it. It was just released, and is one hell of a deal. Or you could wait a month and see what happens at Macworld SF. Either way, you'll have a very powerful machine. And in response to your profile, you are officially a geek now, so forget about any hopes of interaction with a female.
