I deleted Instagram from my iPhone, it sucks the entire data plan. I have been going to the doctor and just in the waiting room during the month I had 3 times a 1GB increase. Instagram requires more memory than even watching video on Youtube.

I was talking with a friend who works in digital marketing and he did the same, he deleted all the apps like Instagram and Facebook from his phone. Addictive and useless. he checks only at work, that is it.

And I am noticing many people are doing similar things, the hype is starting to disappear. As I said to my friend: why do I need a computer to talk to you? why the extra virtual step?

Anyway, It seems I am going to have on my iPhone only mail accounts and wassap and that is it.

I joined shortly after they launched. I deleted my account the very first time they came up with their policy of "owning" your pictures.

I started a similar thread about Facebook. First i deleted the app from my phone. Then I just cancelled Snapchat Instagram and twitter since I never used them. And now I’ve disabled Facebook. Literally like two minutes before I saw your post.

I never had an Instagram account. I don't feel comfortable giving the access to my photos. To anybody.

I stopped posting on Flickr as they want you to pay for 1000 plus photos. Many have done the same.
Never been on Instagram, FB or Twitter. In fact this forum and Flickr are the only two I’ve ever joined.

Yep, as pointed in the other thread, check out "Digital Minimalism" by Cal Newport, and check one of his many interviews in various podcasts (Ezra Klein, Art of Manliness etc.). It's truly enlightening.

As for me, I also deleted all social media apps. I kept the accounts, and I use them a bit during the week. I want to decide when to use them, without impulses, and with a very specific timeframe. It's liberating.
