I did SSD upgrade on late-2013 iMac, and now the stock HDD isn't recognised?

I did an SSD upgrade on my late-2013 iMac, and now the stock HDD isn't recognised.

I put the stock 1TB in to a USB caddy, but both my iMacs say the drive needs to be initialised?

The only additional info I can give is that it's a boot camp drive, since I wanted win8.1 as well as my Mavericks.

I know my caddy is fine since I tried another sata in there and it comes up fine.

Please help since I have all my main data on there I was hoping to boot as external drive.
