I don't know what every one is complain about. I usually get 6 hours of use on my phone and the battery goes low but doesn't usually die. I think that's pretty good. But today I used my iPad and computer mostly an my phones at 74% and I was on 3G most of the day. I don't plan on charging it tonight.

I don't get it either. I get plenty of usage each day and charge my phone at night. Today I was off of WiFi for most of my usage. Did lots of web browsing and streamed music for an hour or so.

*edit* it says that it has been plugged in since the last full charge, but that was only for a couple of minutes while driving.

Some people are happier being unhappy and compelling others to validate their unhappiness.
 
IMO screenshots showing battery life are only useful if they don't include any music. Not sure if yours included music use or not but you have music playing without the screen being on that falsely inflates your usage times.

But one can also say that screenshots not including music usage falsely deflates it because music usage is real usage -- it is really one of the main things that people use the phone for.

If I listen to music for 10 hours it would be silly to say that counts for 1. Another might point out that 30 minutes of gaming is like hours of web browsing so does browsing falsely inflate usage times? Can't pick on music usage alone.

here is mine, haven't been using the music app and i'm on a 5.

Ok I'll bite. Here's mine on an ATT 5s:

47% left after...
2 hours 57 minutes of internet browsing on 3G
25 minute call over a bluetooth headset

No music at all. Wifi, Bluetooth, and LTE were off with brightness at 40%.

Overall I'd probably end up getting 5.5 - 6 hours of 3G web browsing. Not bad IMO.

For me, it was the startling difference between 6 and 7. When I bought my phone, I was occasionally hitting 9hrs with most days in the 8 hr range. Which was AMAZING. Then I upgraded and bam - 4-5hrs is now the norm. Now, I know my battery isn't what it should be after a diagnostic check but that is really a huge difference. Otherwise, love the phone.

I didn't use any music.

Light music usage 30-60 mins. This was at 17% but was forgetful taking the screen shot prior to enabling percentage.

I find that having the percentage makes me OCD and over thinking usage etc. I now hardly notice the drain simply because I don't actually know the percentage!

I can say I don't get anywhere near what some of y'all are getting. Unplugged at 6:30 am. Not used till 7:15am. Typically will text on and off throughout the morning. Had 1 call for 30 mins. Brightness at 80%. Phone was at 15% by 11:00 am. Will charge it the rest of the work day. 100% when I get home. Use it the next 4 hours. Will be dead and needing a charge. Must have 2 charges a day. I believe most of these phones have poor batteries. I need to replace mine and see what I get.

Yes I think something is going on with your iPhone. I would get it checked.
 
My phone really dies while im at work because i cant get much signal while im there. Though it will still have a steady drain if im not working. I just found out that i had my mail getting pushed instead of fetched so that helped a bit, i also turn off my lte while at work.

There was a time where my friends that use competing phones were envious of my iPhones battery life. Those times are gone and for the price of an iPhone vs the material you get I'd expect a bit more the. 6-7 hours.

I feel like people rely on their phones more then they did when 6-7 hours was more then enough. The iPhone has come a long way since release, tons of new features and apps have been added. And when battery life could have been addressed without notice (larger battery) Apple opted for form over function.

Agreed. I'd gladly sacrifice some of the weight reduction and slimness for better battery life. I wouldn't mind going back to iPhone 4/4S weight if it means longer time between charges.

I think that the constraint of battery capacity is not weight, but physical volume. A battery with more capacity would probably need to make the phone bigger, and not so much heavier.
