I don't want to view the image in mail. How?

When I send a photo as an attachment in Windows, it appears on the other end as an attachment, not as an actual image in the preview window.

Is there a way to make Mac Mail function similarly? I can't seem to find it.

Unfortunately the default (and from what I can tell, the only) behavior of Mail is to view images as images and not attachments.
