Hi
I have a trusty 2009 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 and ran into a problem.
I was trying to download a printer driver from cnet and when I set it up it no driver appeared and I noticed a problem. My Google chrome browser started opening yahoo.com as my default page even though it's still set to open google on startup. Thats the only topical thing I've noticed however I haven't been conducting business or anything since this happened and I dont know what to do. please help!

Just to understand - it reverts to Yahoo even when you reset your default homepage in the preferences?

A surprising number of apps install extra stuff such as Yahoo toolbars without asking (skype springs to mind). Go into chrome's addons/extensions and disable or remove the yahoo stuff.

Hope this helps

There is your issue right there. Give this a read. CNet's download.com has been bundling adware in their installers.

DL and run this adware scanner to kill it. Also remove any new extensions like Satori mentioned.
