Hello everyone,
I wanted To format my Mac and I followed instructions on erasing it. I entered on macOS recovery by pressing command +R and then I clicked ‘disk utility’ and erased the internal > Macintosh HD. Then I restarted my Mac and a folder with a question mark appeared. I entered o. Recovery mode again and tried to reinstall the MacOS but it says I can’t reinstall because the disk is locked. I don’t know what to do 😞. Can someone help me please?

I tried to partition it but it showed me an error. Please not that the name ‘not me’ was the new name I added when I erased the HD and ‘not me 2’ was the name of the petition I was trying to create. The other image is how my internal disks looks like.

One should never "erase" the contents of one's Mac unless one has created a bootable backup drive first, to fall back on.

Try booting to INTERNET recovery (NOT to the recovery partition).
Command-OPTION-R at boot
If you're connected via wifi, you'll need your wifi password.

Then, open disk utility.
Go to the view menu and choose "show ALL devices" (VERY important step).

Now, look on the left.
The topmost item should represent your physical drive.
Not sure how this displays with a fusion drive, I've never owned one.

You want to pick the top line.
Click on it to select it, then choose erase.

For Mojave or Catalina, choose APFS with GUID partition map.
For High Sierra and earlier, choose Mac OS extended with journaling enabled, GUID partition format.

Then, erase the drive.
Does it go ok?

Now quit disk utility and open the installer.
Does it work any better now?

Hey Fishrrman, thank you for your advice. I made a mistake erasing my disk.

I found out after researching on some forums that I split my fusion drive in 2 HDD + SSD. I followed some instructions on How to fix a split Fusion Drive - Apple Support and then I reinstalled the Mac OS How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support. It worked perfectly.
