Well after many years I bit the bullet.... I went to Best Buy on to pick up some CD's ect... Saw a MB Pro in the cage open box... Long story short it was missing a Battery and power cord.... After haggling with the Store manager I got it for $817 OTD.....
It is the:
mb133LL/a 2.4GHz, 2gb,200gb 5400 ect ect

Went to the Apple store and used my original iPhone 100 credit and walked with charger and battery for $100 after 8% military discount. Machine runs well cycled the battery seems to have zero glitchs.

I will try not to be a newb and ask to many question and utilize the search function.

I am assuming I got a hell of a deal ?
Am I able to get apple care still ?

Thanks

Don't know about apple care... but that is a hell of a deal. Good job!

that is the previous generation MacBook Pro look here for full specs.

it was introduced in Feb 26 2008 so if it was in the first batches the 1 year Apple Care will run out soon. you can buy extra Apple Care before that date to add another 2 years.

plug in your serial number here to check the full warranty information. your serial number can be found in System Profiler.

Thanks much appreciated.... The query returned the following:
"Our records indicate that your product is covered under Apple's Limited Warranty which is estimated to expire on March 30, 2009."

So I am inside the time limit to aquire AppleCare extension :) I may weigh the options between BestBuys care option and the AppleCare.

There is no choice... Get the applecare extension. You can pick it up on ebay for around $200.
