Perfect for regular sized phones. I don’t understand why tech reviewers keep saying it’s small, are they all used to using phablets?
I had a Galaxy S7 Edge, which is not a small phone, and the iPhone X is about the same width and I like this width, I bought the Galaxy phone knowing it was as wide as I was willing to go and the same applies here.

Maybe it’s becuase people hear about that 5.8 inch number they are expecting a monstrous phablet, but that’s not Apple’s problem. It is simply a stupid industry convention to measure screen size by diagnal length and we have always accepted that.

In fact if you crop out the top and bottom, the iPhone X screen is 5 inches in a 16:9 aspect ratio, which has been accepted as the upper limit of regular phones for a few years now. And no it’s not small even used like that (for example watching YouTube videos).

The iPhone X isn’t a phablet and people shouldn’t expect it to be and get disappointed.

I really do like the new design of the iPhone X and form factor. Obviously it's more narrow and longer, but I feel it slightly small for me. I don't think it's too small, but I do look forward to a larger 6.5 iPhone X in 2018. Perhaps I have adjusted to the iPhone Plus models over the years, and I just like a larger size iPhone.

When you have two phones, one with a 5.5" screen and the other with a 5.8" screen, which would you expect to be larger?

Of course you'd expect the 5.8" device to be larger, especially when you hear that the 5.8" screen device has minimal bezels. I know I was surprised with how small the X was when I received it. It's definitely an adjustment coming from a 7 Plus.

I think it depends on what you are used to. The X is definitely at the top end of what I would consider purchasing from a size perspective. I've tried the plus many times and just find it unwieldy for me personally, but if you are used to using a phone that large the X is narrower, has a smaller keyboard and has less screen real estate when displaying 16:9 content. For 16:9 content it's closer to a 5" device (which is at the low end for android phones).

You would if you didn’t understand basic geometry.
