It looks dusty and there are some hairs or scratches on it. It was listed for $450 for some time and no takers I guess so it's listed for $350 now. I have seen other M1 minis offered at $450 and they sold quickly but this model is in a rural area. It's 30 miles from me and I don't know if it's worth the drive. If it were a 16 GB model and $350 off MSRP, I'd jump at it. There is a 16 GB model that's $200 off MSRP but it's too far. The 16 GB models don't clear at $150 off because a refurb is $140 to $170 off. The 16 GB models that are $200 off clear quickly in my area.

If it's legitimately the model they say, and it cleans up half-decently (I mean, is the internal fan full of hair…?), then it's the best value I've heard of for an M1 Mac to this point.

It looks like it. I suppose it could be a cat or something. I've seen some really amazing deals on Craigslist in the past and wish that I hadn't passed on them. One iMac that I got this year - they were either going to sell it or take it to the dump. So I got it for next to nothing. I've also seen corporate liquidation sales, sales due to death in the family, etc.

I don't think that the mini is that hard to take apart and clean but I like a minimum of 16 GB of RAM in my systems.

I wished it was near me.

If it was close by, I would pick it up just to have another AS machine around. Maybe I would use it headless, and replace my power hungry Plex media server Mac.

Me too.

The cheapest working one on eBay right now is $432.49 shipped, and it has scuffs and damage to the body.

Almost another $40 more for the next cheapest one.

Of course, I would expect to pay less for something on craigslist than on eBay. Still, $350 is a great price, assuming it works.

That doesn't look bad at all. Just wipe it down with a damp cloth.

They are not hard to take apart, and there really isn't much to the inside, mostly empty space. It probably doesn't even need a cleaning on the inside.

Finding a 16GB version might be a lot harder, as they seem to be holding their value a lot more.

Depending on what you do with your Mac, 8GB might be more than adequate. I had 32GB on my old main Mac prior to getting the M1 Mac Mini, with 16GB of RAM, and have been monitoring the memory pressure, and it has been good for me.

These are amazing machines, even with base specs, and I never thought I would ever see a day that a Mac with the power (relative of other Macs and competition) of the M1 MM would be selling for as cheap as they are at the retail price. @$350, that is amazing.

I currently have an M1 mini 16 GB and I do need the 16 GB. I have a 2014 iMac next to it with 32 GB and I run my office stuff on that system when I'm running my production on the M1 mini. I was thinking of getting a second mini with 16 GB to run two monitors to run office stuff and then remove the iMac. I generally hate seeing SWAP. The iMac typically runs around 18 GB of RAM in use with the rest used for cache.

I saw that your 2013 iMac died in another thread.

This came on the market at $350 a while ago and has dropped to $200 several weeks ago and has just sat. I emailed on it with a few questions. I've decided that I'd prefer another M1 mini (to create a Faux Mac Studio with 2 minis) and decided to pass but I'm amazed that it has been on the market for 3 weeks at this price. It's about 12 miles away from me and I have no doubt that it's legit. There is another 2011 iMac 27 for $100 about 30 miles away. Intel Mac prices are cratering in my area. I saw a thread on Reddit about a user complaining about how hard it is to sell iMacs and he got a reality check from a lot of posters on used Intel Mac prices.

16 GB models are hard to come by. There is a perfect one for sale in NYC for $700 and it's been on the market for a couple of weeks. Part of my hesitation on buying anything right now is the possibility of an M2 mini coming out in October. Of course there's no way to tell, but I expect to see more 16 GB M1s for sale when the M2s come out. The two things that I like about M2 are the 8K encoding engines (I do 4k right now but I expect to do 8K eventually and my mini doesn't have either of them), and the 24 GB option.

You should ask seller how well the SSD is according to DriveDx, I saw Mini M1 with 40% of life spent. It's not a problem at all if you use external bootable drive though. Anyway, I'm wondering why the seller hasn't cleaned it, it would take like 5-10 mins from him, and allowed to sell it for 450$ at least.

PS: Also, I read there are still some units with bluetooth or wifi problems (like 2018 models were), but I don't know how widespread the problem is. Mine hasn't had any problems with that so far.

The folks on this board are not the average buyer and seller on Craigslist. There are lots of people that don't know the relative value of what they have and their mechanism for determining a price is to look at what others are asking or to just take their purchase price and take a percentage off of that. I think that these things typically have 100 years of life with normal use. My M1 mini from July 2021 is still probably 99% or 100% as it never swaps and there's an attached 2 TB SSD that it serves through the household.

I clean my equipment before putting it up for sale but a lot of people don't. I think that they just want it out of their house and they want someone to pick it up and take it away. I see this more with 27 inch iMacs - most people don't want to mail it or even bring it to the dump. If you go to their house and pick it up, you're kind of doing them a service.

I use wired Ethernet, a wired keyboard and a Logitech wireless dongle mouse. The dongle is connected to a USBA port on my monitor so that it is line of sight to the mouse. I don't have reception issues. I did try old Apple Bluetooth devices and one of them wouldn't connect at all and the other one was not very good on range. I'd say that the complaints on Bluetooth are valid and likely due to the aluminum enclosure. But those are two things that are easy to work around. What's odd is that I've never had Bluetooth or WiFi issues with my 27 inch iMacs and they are all-Aluminum as well except for the screen.

I have a lot of iMacs, some are dead, but not the 2013. Maybe you are thinking of another iMac I had a post about?

I have a iMac G3, iMac G4, iMac G5, two Mid 2011 iMacs, two Late 2012 iMacs, and my Late 2013 iMacs.

The only ones that are completely dead are the G5 and one of the Late 2012 iMacs. One of my Mid 2011s currently won't boot, but that is related to a non-OEM GPU I put inside it. I won't say that one is dead quite yet, unless I get around to troubleshooting it.

But, my Late 2013 iMac is running strong, with the exception of the internal drive, but I plan on doing a SATA SSD swap with it soon.

EDIT: nvm, I think I know what post you are talking about.
The one from this thread:

I reworded my post for clarification, it was supposed to say that the HDD is dead, not the whole computer.

I currently have an M1 mini 16 GB and I do need the 16 GB.
Well, I guess that base model won't work for you. Sucks, because it is such as great price.

It depends on the model and specs. Some older Intels are still selling high, especially ones with the higher end BTO GPUs. Just check out some of the logic board prices for these models.

The base and "in stock" models (like ones off the shelf at Best Buy and the Apple Store) are so cheap right now. This was in the early part of 2021, but I got a base 27" Mid 2011 iMac, with 32GB of RAM, mint, with the box, for only $100.

One of those right here: https://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/sys/d/bedford-imac-27-inch-mid-gb-1tb-disk/7521439328.html

And it includes the Apple keyboard.

This is a 2013 base model for $200: https://nh.craigslist.org/sys/d/lyndeborough-imac-27-late-2013-model/7518397615.html

So many Macs looking for a good home.

When I first saw the Pictures I glanced at how decent shape the Mini looks underneath the residue
It has hairs and dust but I will guess it will look "like new" (as owner listed) above when thoroughly cleaned?

$350 sounds like a great deal,
