The keyboard click noise happens when entering your password in the app store even when it is turned off in the settings.

This did not make my girlfriend happy when it woke her up at 5:30 this morning. Nevermind why I was downloading apps in bed at 5:30am.

Wow, your girlfriend has really sensitive hearing! :O

You Violated the iPhone's Golden Rule: Thou shalt not wake up thy significant other with iPhone keyboard clicking before 8:00AM...:D

Dude -- Everyone knows that the real iPhone Golden Rule is "Thou shalt not use thy iPhone as a door-stop to hold open your apartment door while you check the mail so that the person who unexpectedly comes out after you tries to close the door, thus smashing your iPhone -- even though it will still function afterwards."

100% true.

Man, that is horrible! But good that it still works!

I don't have this problem. No annoying clicks for me :D

That's odd. I can reproduce this bug everytime. Do you have your phone on silent or the volume down or something?

Also, you did read the post and sAw this only happens when entering your password in the app store right?

Not sure if it makes a difference or not but I did a full restore to factory settings when I updated to 2.2. And yes, I did turn keyboard clicks off afterward.

Can someone else confirm this bug on their iPhone so I know my iPhone isn't uniquely bootleg?

I had similar problems at first with noise coming from the internal speaker on my touch when it was set for headphones, all I had to do to fix it was go to the sounds page and set it to speaker and back to headphones again, fixed the problem.

Yup I read the entire post. I muted it as well as left the phone on loud and I didn't hear any clicks in the app store.

I didn't do a fresh install of 2.2 either.

I just updated my gf's 1st gen iPhone and it doesn't click. Strange. Maybe I'll have to reinstall mine and see what happens.
