This is fairly easy and you MUST have a copy of CandyBar to do that. Only TWO FVcking easy steps.

Step One:
-open CandyBar.app and go to "System" under the "Device Icons", change Internal icon to what you want your Bootcamp NTFS partition want to be

Then Apply Changes. In my case, the internal disks will all become windows logos.

Step two:
Under "Volumes", change your mac partitions or disks back to what you want them to be.

Finish!!!!!

Enjoy LoL!

I see, but, do the bootcamp icons change?

Unfortunately it does not change the icons in the bootcamp loader (changes are only applied on the desktop).
If anyone knows of a way to change the icons in the bootcamp loader (at startup) please let me know. I'd be really grateful.

Pretty kewl. I changed mine the "hard" way for free without using candybar.

To be honest, it wasn't that difficult.

Yea can't you just get info on the disk and then copy and paste the new icon into the icon pane? I haven't done this OS 10.4 but it used to work...

Because the NTFS partition is read only under OS X. (FAT32 would work).

Nice! macincar where'd you get that Windows icon from? I've been looking for it. Is there a way to change the name of the drive in OSX from Untitled to something else?

Go into windows and change it from there. The change will then be reflected in OSX.

NOTE: If you do the icon changing from the link above before changing the drive name, you will have to redo the trick with the new name that you gave the hard drive, otherwise the .ico file won't recognize the new name you gave to the windows drive.

If that doesn't make sense, you can ask me if you have any problems.

Bringing up an old thread.

Does anyone know how to change the icons in the Bootcamp loader?
I want to do this because I have a SSD and not a HDD.
