I give up on my wireless mouse

My Logitech wireless mouse is no more. It worked fine until i plug in my external HD. It then acts very erratic. Is the Apple bluetooth mouse pad a better alternative?

Its not big enough. I do a lot of Photoshop, However i did try the trackpad and it work terrific
