rebooted and now i get a kernel panic on boot up unable to find driver for this platform:"Powermac7,3".
and a bunch of other giberish but the apple hardware test says everything is fine?

any ideas

Any new peripherals? Try taking out all peripherals. This probably has nothing to do with the problem, but its worth a try...maybe? Good luck.

no new hardware or peripherals only a apple keyboard and mouse pluged in

a kernel panic is a hardware issue. to me it sounds like it is an issue with your firmware. Since you can not boot the computer up I would say updating your firmware yourself might prove to not be easily done. I would take it in for service, or cut your lose and sell it as is.
