Last weekend I left my nano at the gym, probably in one of the cupholders in the treadmill or something.

I realized it when I was leaving and changing. I went back to the equipment and searched frantically. I called later and it still hadn't turned up. So I gave up and bought a new blue shuffle to replace my gym ipod.

I went in today and had to do some paperwork too and it occurred to me to ask the front desk. They quickly brought out a bunch of nanos actually! And mine was still in there in its incase leather wallet (still with my money in the pocket)!

My faith in Americans have been restored! (slightly)

I just thought I'd share my joy :D

did you have to verify it was yours? i mean, why not say you lost 5 nanos?

they didn't ask me to verify. But since the right amount of money was there, i'm just going to assume they assumed it really was mine (which it is).

Why not say I lost 5? Because I have morals. No idea where they came from, but I have them. Hell, I even bought Vista legit.

it's good that you have morals. i wasn't suggesting you go in and say you lost five. rather, i was wondering what would stop someone from doing so.

gosh, i didn't mean it like that. :p i was just surprised that a gym would be so willing to hand over lost mp3 players. if it were my gym, i'd want some extra security. like verifying the content of the ipod, playlists, etc.

I have a great gym though. Expensive, but you really do get what you pay for.

The people who go there are great as are the peolpe who work there. I kinda like that they just brought out all these MP3 players. It shows that they are not concerned about security because it isn't a problem.

For me, security devices and people have actually almost always made me feel less safe, rather than more safe.
