All of a sudden the app and website won't let me add extra bacon - everything else is customizable. ??? Very odd. Always used to be an option as far as I remember. Oh, and the cheese is now one slice or nothing - no option to add another slice.

UPDATE: I contacted BK about this, and they said it's a bug that they're working to fix:

Maybe the BK app has access to your Health Records ... 😁

Then I guess I need to send them a nutrition info sheet on ketchup and mayo because they still allow you to add extra for those 😉

But seriously, though, it's strange. Are we experiencing a cheese and bacon shortage currently so they're rationing them? lol!

I hate that since the app changed, you can't sub rings for fries on the 2 original chicken 2 fry deal. But still cheaper to get an extra onion ring that getting 2 sandwiches separate and an onion ring. And why can't you take the sauce off the new chicken sandwich?

Espacially since you pay extra for those two. I just wish places would have a cheaper price for plain and then a low upcharge for extras.

Why are we still eating at BK? Any fast food for that matter? Seed oils, all chemicals, fake food. Fried food causes all sorts of health concerns right?

Everything in moderation. I don't get the burger + large fries + large coke, etc. when I go to these places. I normally will get just the sandwich and sometimes the smallest order of fries. I never order a drink. I also walk 8-10 miles a day.

Agree we get lt less than once a week anymore, especially with the prices of things anymore. I'll skip fries anymore unless it's McD or Arby's.

I don't have any experience with those menu items at BK, but it is definitely frustrating when they limit you for seemingly no logical reason. I'll give my local BK one thing for sure, though. Not once have they messed up my order. The Wendy's down the street from them? You better dissect your order before you leave the drive-thru window, because 75% of the time they screw it up 🙄 The most recent screwup was they tried to give me the wrong dressing with my salad and then told me they were out of the right kind. Then why let me order the salad in the first place? I literally had to drive to the grocery store to get dressing (and it wasn't as good) while my food sat there 🤦🏼‍♂️

I gave up on BK when they dropped their big chicken sandwich with real chicken and went back to a processed chicken patty.

They think they smarter trying to be more profitable, but they lost my business.

Same situation for a California restaurant chain called Black Bear. Being single, I used to go there ever Thanksgiving for a real turkey dinner, sliced off the bird. Then they switched to processed turkey. Slices were thin and perfectly round, like deli meat. Yuk, never went back for any meal.

BK is usually slighty bad in some way. Funny thing is the last time it was correct fast freah. And I couldn't even find a way to give positive feedback on the app. Only issues lol

Yes 100% their chicken sandwiches used to have substance, I tried one a while back and it was chewy, like I was eating glue lol

But the catsup is a vegetable! That was decided years ago... (I know, it was just as stupid back then)

No offense, but you and I are like a drop in the ocean in terms of their customer base (same goes for any major chain or franchise). I doubt we spend enough that losing our business would negatively affect them unless you were buying meals for your entire city every day, lol! As the saying goes, you can only please some of the people some of the time - no matter what they do, someone will be happy and another will be pi$$ed.

I worked at a Burger King. Haven't eaten at one since. I worked a lot of restaurant jobs in high school and early college.

Best tip I ever got: Get a job at a pizza joint (not a chain if possible) and occasionally mess up an order. FREE FOOD! (Unless the owner/manager is a dink) Plus eating toppings was key for proper nutrition... :D:cool:

AND they are owned by a foreign company, they save MASSIVE amounts of money on taxes. They were invovled in a 'reverse takeover' years ago. They aren't even American anymore.

Don't even need to mess up if you have a cool manager on at the time. Our one BK one let us make something on the way out.

Eating micro plastics in moderation is still destroying our bodies don’t ya think 🤔

HAH! The manager at the one I worked at *found* a freezer burned box of Whopper Junior patties, and decried that they would NOT be tossed in the trash, but served to people that were going through the drive-thru. I am not kidding.

Anyone seen Lethal Weapon with Joe Peschi? You get 'freaked at the drive-thru'. Yeah, you sure do sometimes.

At an Arby's, I got a chicken sandwich where half of the patty was burned, and half was frozen. I have given up 'fast food' as much as possible, understandably...

I fear I have turned into my father. At 50+ years old, these places just rub me the wrong way from all ends.
  • Fast food drive-throughs are now the slowest way to get your food, not the fastest.
  • Fast food is now significantly more expensive than just buying the same items and cooking them yourself, and often times more expensive than a decent sit-down restaurant when you're talking about a family of 3 or more.
  • Good or bad, you used to be able to count on consistency with regard to the food. That hasn't been the case in years. I've always been a sucker for McDonald's French fries—but anymore, depending on the location and time of day, you can get either end of the spectrum.
  • Forcing me to get a software engineering degree to figure out how to use an order kiosk inside a store is just beyond me. More often than not, I see an employee having to stand in the lobby next to the kiosk to actually place people's order for them because the stupid machines are too difficult to use. It's a cost-saving thing, I get it. But is it really saving anything if they have to pay someone to use it for their customers, and it takes more time than just walking up to a register and saying "two cheeseburgers, small fry, that's it."
There are other reasons (such as "I'm getting older and fast-food just ain't good for ya") that I don't get fast food very often, but the main reason is that it's just too expensive for what you get. And Burger King has always been more expensive than most similar fast-food burger joints. I'm actually surprised they're still around as much as they are.

Really? It's actually one of the cheapest of the fast food places I normally go (Burger King, Wendy's, Chick-Fil-A, and Taco Bell), but I guess it depends on what you order. I normally get either their Rodeo Burger ($1.49) or Bacon Double Cheeseburger ($3.59). Wendy's double bacon burger is only 20 cents less. I definitely wouldn't be paying those prices at a nice sit down restaurant. On the other hand, 3 Doritos Locos tacos at Taco bell with just nacho cheese sauce added will run you over 10 dollars just for the 3 tacos (before tax).

And FWIW, I find all those places consistent with their food quality--at least my local ones.

BK is the absolute bottom feeder of the fast-food world. You would have to pay me $50 to eat a free meal there.
