In this thread I'd like to discuss the single CPU Mac Pro regarding the pricing policy.
Imagine Apple doesn't launch a new Mac Pro, but simply adjusts the BTO CPU prices to actual market prices.
The sweetest Mac Pro is the 3.33GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon W3680 Westmere

The actual 1200$ for that option would shrink to a 300$ upgrade.

http://ark.intel.com/products/47917...W3680-(12M-Cache-3_33-GHz-6_40-GTs-Intel-QPI)
The pricetag of 2699.- would be still high, but from the saved 900$ you could buy:
- 16GB RAM
- GTX580
- 2 x 1TB HDD
- 128 SSD
I had a dream
