But how do I transfer songs from my jailbroken iPod touch back to my PC without SSH and without a $30 piece of software? Is it possible? point me to a thread if possible

I use ipod access for windows but its trial software and can only transfer a certain number of songs before it stops, lookin on the net most programmes like this seem to only be shareware with a limited trial

I use Music Rescue for windows. It will transfer all your songs for free but it gives a message every 50 songs asking you to register.

Hmmmm... I just tried it and it would not recognize my IpodTouch, and the docs say it is not supported. Do you have a version that does???
