If you have an app like GoodReader, yes.

You can even use GoodReader to open up online .zip files, or from your Desktop just click on Add (from within iTunes) and drag and drop files for on the go.

Sweet. So I can use it as if it was a memory card? Can I take files off? I'm coming from a blackberry

Yes.

To add files to your iOS device from a computer, click Add.
To move files from your iOS device to a computer, click Save To.

And if your at home and have WiFi iTunes Sync enabled, you can add/remove files wirelessly as well.
