I cannt stand it any more!!!

alllllllllll the way to the very bottom! then i have to scroll alllllllllllllllllllllll the way back to the top.

EVERY TIME!
tiger is soo messed up!

ive found that any mouse so far with a scroll wheel will do this.

it noramly happends on the 3rd 'roll' or 'click' with the scroll wheel.
it scrolls noramly for the first 2 times thennnnnnnn BOOM!!! you magicaly
taking to the bottom of the page.

i HATE this!.. i have to use another browser now..

It has to be certian settings. I am using a logictech mx1000 mouse on a mac mini running tiger and..... you guessed it! no problems at all.

Either you have a bum mouse, you don't know how to scroll correctly, or your settings are messed up. No one else has had any troubles using a scroll wheel in Safari, nor have I...

Same thing happened to me after I upgraded to Tiger. I turned out I was having a part of a book pressing down on the spacebar of my keyboard. I stopped that and the problem was fixed.

How fast is your internet connection? It may be because you scroll before all the page is loaded.

You probably have a software/hardware issue, but I'm not sure what it is. Try FireFox, or even IE. If it happens on them too, it isn't just Safari.

I see this quite often on my system. OS 10.4.2 and an MS Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1a. It doesn't really annoy me though, it's intermittent. Does it happen every time for you?

Edit: Oh, and mine doesn't scroll right to the bottom, it just "jumps" by about one screenful.

Scrolling in Safari Tiger works fine for me with my Kensington trackball with scroll ring.

The thing I really hate about Safari is how any stupid little Flash graphic or animated GIF will usually throttle my dual 2.0 G5 up to airplane-like RPMs. And how sometimes it will just freeze with the Spinning Beachball of Eternal Waiting for 4-5 seconds when I click on something. And how I'll often find it taking up hundreds of megabytes of resident RAM. I have a lot of RAM, but still, it's a pig. It's always been a resource hog, but it's getting worse and worse with each new version.

Scrolling fine on this G4 400Mhz PM.
Now Quicktime is another matter, stalls, stutters or stops.
Firefox on the other hand runs QT media fine, even high quality QT. Why Apple can't have their own browser run QT better than the competition is beyond me.

D'oh! Flanders! ;) :D

I have sidetrack and vertical trackpad scrolling works okay for me in Safari too....and I have my scroll speed preference for the trackpad turned to the highest setting.

I'm almost sure that you're pressing the spacebar by accident. It happens to me sometimes, and I get really pissed off until I notice that I'm being stupid and pressing the spacebar.

I'm nowhere near the spacebar when it happens.

I'll chime in and add that I have no problems with Safari and my Logitech MX1000. Had to fiddle with the scroll settings to get it to how I want but it works dandy.

Hee. That's the story of my life.
