I have 10.4.11 and can't obtain iTunes 10 or iOS 4.2 update

Can anyone give me some advice on what to do. I thought I could figure it out, but I can't. I'm running a 2007 20" iMac desktop 2.16ghz with 1gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram. Thanks.

It requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and later: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You could get Snow Leopard for 29 USD though and then be able to update to iTunes 10 and iOS 4.2.

Ok. Now I'm really bummed. Just got an iPad and I can't even set it up until I upgrade. Why is there no online option? Does it have to be a store bought DVD?

Why is there no online option for what? You have to get a DVD somehow; whether or not you buy it in the store, order online, pay a friend, whatever... you need the disc.
