I have 4G on my iPhone 4S

Hello,
Maybe I missed an article on this, but are we supposed to have 4G service on our iPhone 4Ss now? After the new iPad was introduced my phone switched from saying 3G to saying 4G in the upper left corner and is a lot faster on the internet. I just thought I would check, I had not ready anything about it. Not that I am complaining Thanks,
