I have an iPhone 4S on 7.0.4 but just checked with tiny umbrella right now and it says I didn't get my SHSH blobs back when they were being signed. Any way around this or am I forced to update or stick with a shotty/buggy 7.0.4 JB?

SHSH blobs for an iPhone 4S are worthless and give you no benefit. There's no need to save them.

As Intell notes, they are worthless now and they have been worthless since iOS 6.0 was jailbroken.

Saurik made a mistake (it's detailed on his blog) and consequently blobs don't matter any more. Therefore, it's now impossible to downgrade, blobs or no blobs.

Some clarification required: although there were errors with Cydia resulting in saved iOS6 SHSH being incomplete, that is not why you cannot use iOS6 and iOS7 SHSH with your 4S.

Beginning with iOS6, Apple patched the exploit being used to bypass firmware signing which had allowed the install of older unsigned firmware on devices not susceptible to Limera1n exploit (4S, 5, 5S, 5C)

Beginning with iOS7, Apple no longer uses SHSH to authenticate firmware installs.

Saurik failing to correctly save blobs has absolutely /nothing/ to do with why they're not useful :p
