I have been contemplating buying Aperture 3 now that it's available in the app store for $79.99, but while taking a walk through my campus' bookstore I saw academic versions of it for $69.99 and right next to it were a couple of copies of Aperture 2 for $15.99. Is Aperture 3 worth the price difference or is 2 good too. I am a casual photographer looking for some basic (but more advanced than iPhoto) editing tools, similar organization abilities to iPhotos and an easy to figure out and navigate UI. I have also been looking at apps like Pixlemator in the app store. What should I do?
