I have a dilemma

I purchased a Macbook Air from my company last year for $500. It had (2010) 2gb ram 256 ssd with Applecare running until August 2014. Fast-forward to last month, they attempted to replace the logic board twice and it still did not remedy the problem. The store manager said forget it and told me he would give me a new Macbook Air (2012 4gb ram 256 ssd). Of course I was happy about that and took my new toy home. The manager called me yesterday to see if I was satisfied or if I wanted to upgrade to a retina Macbook Pro for $80, a non-retina Macbook Pro (8gb ram 750 HHD) or order a Air (8gb ram 512ssd)

What are the opinions of the board? I'm leaning towards the 13 in retina simply because my wife just ordered the non-retina.
 
Go for the retina. Is that the 256 GB one or the 128? Stay away from the MBP since it really has nothing on the Air other than the CD drive.

That is incredible. You are essentially going from a 2010 Air to 2013 rMBP for $80. Definitely do that. What a steal.
 
Ok...I ended up setting for the rMBP 13 8gb 256ssd :)

They will give an additional 14 days to be sure it grows on me lol...I wanted to wait until after the announcement; however, after talking with the store manager he does not believe the new Pro's will be out in 10 days (he did offer to give me $1800 in-store credit) :D

$80 clams! I should be so lucky.

The Airs are really nice, but the Retina is better. It's not much heavier but the screen is way better, and it has 8GB.

I own both, and even have the nicer Samsung screen on the Air.

It's pretty bad LOL

Anyway, screens are getting better in general, and soon the present Air will be old stuff.
