I just bought an iPhone 4 and I just realized that I bought it as an unlocked phone on apple.com and I wanted to know what is the difference between an unlocked phone and a regular locked phone that you would buy from AT&T?

A regular iPhone bought from AT&T will only accept an AT&T sim card to operate the phone functions while an unlocked iPhone will accept a sim card from any carrier that uses sim cards (which includes carriers in europe and other parts of the world as well).

but other than that there is no difference between an unlocked iPhone and a locked iPhone?
