I have an iMac G4 700 MHz with 512 MB ram running Jaguar.

It actually runs very smoothly. I was wondering if 10.3 would slow it down, or maybe even 10.4?

Leopard would even be fine, however...

I was able to "force feed" my 700mhz iMac G4 10.5 by installing it onto it's hard drive using a newer mac and then putting it back into the g4 (this had to be done because leopard requires at least an 867mhz g4 mac). I had maxed it out to 1gb of ram and with leopard it ran flawlessly.

I wonder if that trick would work for SL?

I totally in love with my iLamp and have no intention of letting it go. (why they stopped making them?) They're so awesome, you can be like "Hey look at this" and swing the screen.

G4s are PowerPC or PPC machines, not Intel, they will not run Snow Leopard.

I have a universal Panther Disc set if anyone needs them.

Running a G4 iMac should have the maximum ram and upgraded hard drive for Panther or Tiger. You could probably force Leopard on there, too, but Tiger or Panther will do the job.

I also have the retail Tiger dvd.

I'd do a RAM upgrade and get 10.5 stuck on it. :)

I highly doubt it.
