Currently I have family plan (2 lines) with VZW and now I am moving to ATT for iPhone. Both the primary and the second lines are for myself (2nd line is under a different name) and I will be going solo with iPhone with ATT.

So, if I move my VZW primary number to ATT, my second VZW number is automatically cancelled as well? It seems pretty obvious but I just want to make sure. :)

I do not think this is true. I had a family plan with 2 lines on VZW and just recently ported my primary to ATT for the iPhone. Each line has a separate ETF based on how long you have been under contract. If you are out of contract, I believe you will have to port or cancel each number separately.

I left one line with VZW, so I went to the VZW retail store and had them switch the number I was keeping with VZW to my primary line. They then put the number I was porting onto the lowest plan as it was being ported to ATT that day.
