I'd like to know since we're getting dangerously close to launch :) I'd prefer to go to an Apple Store I think

Apple cannot give you corporate discounts in the store so you should probably go to att but you might be able to activate the FAN number yourself at home but i am not sure

No what i mean is , if I have a FAN discount, can I still buy an iPhone 3G at an Apple Store or will they refuse me the purchase and I will have to go to an AT&T retailer?

In other words, all you're doing is adding an iPhone to an existing account. Seems like you should keep whatever FAN discount you're getting--apple doesn't need to do anything with your plan.

No one knows. I'm going to take my FAN discount off tonight so that I'm sure I can buy at Apple. Then I'll add it on tomorrow night.

If its already applied on your account it should be automatic and Apple has nothing to do.
