I just downloaded the GM 3.0 seed and updated from 2.2.1 jailbroken on my iPhone 3G, and voila I still have root access!

Now I don't really know if this is good or not but at least I can remember to take those ROMs out since I won't be able to use the emu anymore :) since in itunes I first noticed I had 1.86gb of 'other' space in the iphone space area at the bottom, so I went to PhoneView (app in mac) and I can access my phone from root :)

I don't really know what I can do at this point but hopefully I can update the carrier file without itunes 8.2 prelease! I am happy for some reason :)

Edit: well not exactly 'root' access but I see this part at least :) -
Edit2: Ok nvm nobody get mad, I just figured out when it isn't jailbroken it only shows the media folder of the phone, sucks.

How do you have root access? SSH?

EDIT: Nevermind. Anyway, are you able to modify the files or just view them?

Im sure once apple releases the final final final version of 3.0 wednesday that will be taken out!

I did notice that the 3.0 seed does not wipe the unit but rather installs over the top. I wonder if that was the reason your access stayed?
