I have a '07 MPB (2.4 w/4gig RAM) running Lion. I use an Airport Extreme base station for internet access and wireless printing or HD. This was fine but failed some time ago and I didn't bother to fix it since it wasn't hard to plug in one or the other when needed. Now that I have Lion installed I'd like to get it going again but have a problem. When I open Airport Utility it says:

"AirPort utility unable to find any AirPort wireless devices."

This is curious since I'm using the airport to get online. I've tried moving the laptop to within 1' of the station just incase it needed a very strong signal but it made no difference.

Any ideas?

try pluggin in an ethernet cable between them.

also a USB hub will work to let you connect more than one device at the same time

This was noticed long ago but think people finally stopped caring since the connection still worked. Anyway, do a factory reset of your Airport (Google it) and give it up to a day, as the router should show back up. No one could really figure out what made it disappear.
