I have lost my Sims 3 disc, how can I run the game without it?

I just bought the CD and its a pain to play from CD. I would like to know too. I tried to install on iDisk but it didnt work that way

Make sure your Sims3 game and any expansions are registered with Origin. After that you can download the digital download version which does not require the CD. Note: you may have to remove and install the entire game and any add-ons first to use this method.
FWIW, Sims3 only wants the CD for the newest expansion/stuff pack loaded, so you can try the digital download for just that one.

Yea like I did, all I wanted them to do was change my e mail address for me on my account and they flatly refused even after proving it was my account by answering thier proving questions that they ask me, totaly useless inept muppets.

But on topic as the others have said register your Sims titles in Origin and you will be able to download them digitally. I had to do this when I got newer iMac and didn't have the disc drive anymore.
Just out of curiosity, is anyone having any luck with The Sims 3? I bought it from Amazon yesterday and installed it and only had a few minutes to play it by the time everything was finished updating. Then today it tells me that there are game updates available. It gets like 2/3 through downloading and just stops. The download window completely vanishes. The game won't launch. Every time I try to launch the game, it throws an error saying the game could not start. Very frustrating. One of the reasons I got this computer is because I thought it would be able to run the sims :/ Definitely not a very good impression for this first time Mac user.
